Yoga Basics: Five Week Beginner Series with Heather - July 9th

Yoga has many benefits: relieving stress, building strength, along with creating a sense of balance, confidence, ease and peace in one’s life. If you have been thinking about trying yoga and would like to start, this is the class for you. This 5 week Beginner Series class will introduce and ground you in the basics of yoga. It will give you a strong foundation before attempting a more advanced class. You will learn the preliminary standing, seated and balancing postures, and be introduced to some simple and very accessible vinyasa sequences. You will move through the practice looking at the alignment of your body in the postures to prevent any injury, you will work with props and learn modifications, and will learn the basic breathing exercises that will help you understand the importance of the breath. After taking this series, you will feel ready to try a moderate or higher level Vinyasa class. This is for anyone interested in learning or going over the basics of vinyasa yoga practice. Live Like a Yogi Series Classes: 

Intro to the Yamas and the Niyamas :: 5 week series with Mia - June 18th

In classical yoga, Patajali placed the yamas and niyamas before asana (the poses) on the eight limbed path.  But modern yoga students learn the asana first.  Join Mia and learn what exactly the yamas and the niyamas are and how to implement them into your daily life.  We will have “self-work” homework exercises throughout the 5 weeks and lots of discussion on how to practice the yamas and niyamas daily. This class will be inspiring and motivating and give you the tools to practice yoga off the mat every day. Intro to Meditation :: 4 week series with Mia - TBD

It will give you a spiritual direction and also a metaphysical and mystical awareness that will help you deal with life in a way you never thought possible…” -Sri Shambhavananda This 4 week intro to meditation series will teach you how to meditate, how to deal with distractions, myths of meditation and how to get out of your own way so you can sit still and be quiet with yourself. You will enjoy the benefits of meditation with a group which include support and community. This series is suitable for anyone with or without a current meditation practice. Yoga at Broad Street Market with Mia - Saturday's in May through August

What would make Saturday’s at the Broad Street Market even better than they already are?  YOGA!

Mia is bringing the yoga fun to the market with her Yoga at the Market series, she’ll be holding yoga classes from 7:00-8:00am in the plaza starting the first Saturday in May and will run them through the end of summer. These classes will be donation-based (with a suggested donation $10).

Yoga & Spirits @ Midstate Distillery - July 15th

Yoga & Spirits moves to Sunday Funday during 3rd in the Burg weekends... That means your free drink can be used at our Build-A-Bloody Mary Bar!! (Or another one of our delicious cocktails). Join Mia from Sangha Yoga for yoga followed by drinks and brunch at Midstate Distillery. Each ticket includes a guided 1-hour Vinyasa Yoga Class (great for all levels), 1 free drink and brunch. 10:15-10:30 - Arrival & Check in 10:30-11:30 - Vinyasa Yoga Class (all levels) 11:30 - Grab your free drink, some food and have your friends meet you for drinks when Midstate opens to the public at 12PM (until 4PM) Please bring your own mat.
