Beginning Yoga (monthly 2 hour workshop)

This workshop is a great place to start your yoga journey!
You will explore the foundations of yoga in a fun, inspiring, comfortable, and judgement free atmosphere.  The format is open, so students will be encouraged to ask questions throughout class.  There will be lots of hands on adjustments and simple modifications to meet everyone’s needs.  You will learn simple breathing techniques, the foundation poses of Sun Salutations and basic transition poses found in most yoga classes. This class will help you feel confident in an all levels class while finding the fun of yoga.  Beginning Yoga is open to all ages and levels of experience.

**Class size is limited so pre-registration is required**

Chair Yoga

Sangha Chair Yoga is for anyBODY that is in the stages of healing or living with a condition that makes it difficult to get up and down on the floor easily or has limited mobility or struggles with balance. Don’t let limited mobility or injuries hold you back from enjoying yoga, this class is a safe way to stretch and strengthen your body.

• Limited mobility due to illness, injury, disease, disabilities, weight challenges
• Inflammation in the joints
• Never done yoga before
• Difficulty standing for long periods of time
• Difficult getting up and down on the floor

Sangha Chair Yoga is the perfect practice to help you slowly develop balance and stability—while improving strength and flexibility. The chair replaces the mat allowing you to take full advantage of yoga’s amazing benefits. We will move slowly and mindfully in a safe and supportive way.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga is slow paced and gentle, and will leave you feeling calm and nourished. Most of the postures are deeply supported by blocks, blankets, bolsters, and other props which allow you to stay in the poses for longer lengths of time, and in turn allow the body to shift into deep relaxation. Restorative yoga is a deeply restful and rejuvenating practice.

Rise & Shine – 6 am Vinyasa

The perfect start to your day!
When you wake in the morning, the mind is alert and uncluttered. A morning practice sets you up for a happy, healthy  and peaceful day. Class begins with some gentle stretching as we build the energy with flowing movement into an invigorating practice. This all levels class is designed to build strength, balance and flexibility. Wake the body, settle the mind, find the breath and begin your day with some yoga.

Vinyasa

Vinyasa is a flowing class.  You will follow a breath-linked asana (poses) practice to encourage a transformative and balancing effect in your body. Classes build heat, endurance, flexibility, strength. The creative sequencing found in a vinyasa class is often built around surya namaskar (sun salutations). Vinyasa is a style of yoga characterized by stringing postures together so that you move from one to another, seamlessly, using the breath. Commonly referred to as “flow” yoga. Vinyasa classes will leave you feeling energized.

  • Level 1 – you know what a sun salutation is.  Level 1 emphasizes alignment and offers modifications throughout the class.
  • Level 1/2 – this is a mixed level class that gives you a challenge when you want one.  Modifications will still be offered by the teacher.  This class allows you to practice at your own individual level while keeping up with the class flow and energy.
  • Level 2 – you are familiar with the basic poses and transitions commonly found in a vinyasa class (down dog, chaturanga, cobra/upward facing dog).  Level 2 includes more challenging sequences, subtle alignment cues, and less modifications will be stressed.
  • Level 3 – you have a committed practice.  This class offers more challenging poses and transitions, deeper variations and a more dynamic sequence with less cues and modifications being offered.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a gentle and relaxing practice.  It works deep into the connective tissues to activate change at that deepest level. With passive (rather than active) postures, it challenges you to find peace in what may be a slightly uncomfortable position and hold that position for 3 to 5 minutes, or even longer. Done mostly on the floor, the postures increase flexibility as well as increase a deeper level of inner awareness.

Yoga Foundations

Have you been thinking about trying yoga but you’re not sure where to start?  START HERE!  This class teaches the basics for people brand new to yoga.  Everyone is welcome and there is absolutely no flexibility required.  This is the class where you can ask questions, you can take your time and learn the foundations of the basic yoga poses you find in most yoga classes.  Wear comfortable clothing that allow you to stretch.  Start yoga today!
